Hey Folks
It is been a long time after my first post. Like always people have a reason for delay I also have one :P
Pressure on my first job :) Life is getting smoother day by day so thought of getting back to the old theory of “pen down the thoughts “ now.
What topic should I write upon now? I’ve seen so many things in the short span of time, may be a real “eye opener” in the new place.
I don’t know how many people believe in learning other languages. I have been a victim now suffering for everything just because I knew only my mother tongue except English.
People should atleast speak in our national language Hindi, which is spoken almost all part of the country. I really regret for not learning it. Outside the boundary of TN, Hindi is must for survival…:P Believe me it is my personal experience :P I stood around 2 hours in the road side for a auto rickshaw unable to explain the driver the place I want to go which was actually just 2 km from where I was standing. Finally ended up paying 100 bucks for the short distance :D
People exploit you if u don’t know the local language. The funny fact is that the place where I’m in has a separate mother tongue but people there speak Hindi more compared to the local language, from the chaiwala to the show room manager. I’m even struggling to explain what to cook for lunch and dinner to my maid in my house, where she ends up cooking what I don’t want to be cooked most of the time :D
But looking at it on a serious note, it is very essential to know hindi. It is actually a shame for not knowing our national language. Leave of the fact that TN’s political leaders made a mess out of not making Hindi a compulsory language and trying to make regional language as the national language. It our own duty to know our national language, if not in school, at least outside school, if not for knowledge but at least for survival, in case you end up working in a place which is not your native state. Seriously I felt ashamed when people in my work place started mocking me for not knowing our national language. Just imagine of a place where u stand alone not knowing the particular language and everyone including your boss communicates in that language.
I’m not surprised when my colleagues have tagged all people from Chennai as people who don’t know Hindi, because it is the fact :)
So my kind request to my friends, dear ones and all people of Chennai and TN, it is better now than never. Please stop bitching about the politicians playing the spoil sport in learning the language and start learning our national language as I am starting it now and avoid embarrassing situations like I experienced, in a new place in the future :P
Happy Learning :)
Next post to follow very soon......
